Study Update 18-09-14

front end complete

I have now finished the ‘Front End Web Develoment’ track over at treehouse. The course was a fantastic way to introduce the world of front end development and has lead to me wanting to study more of the programatic principles that I learnt during this course.

After completing the track, I am a little unsure as to what to study next. there is so much choice!

Below is a list of the things that I have been looking at today.

1. I have dabbled at learning a bit of Swift (Apples new programming language) by watching some of the new videos found over at treehouse.

2. I have also started working my way through the javaScript tutorial over at codecademy.

I am so far finding codecademy a much faster way of learning. Instead of watching tutorial videos, you have to work through a series of hands-on text based lessons.

3. I have also been looking at CS50x. This is an online equivalent of the popular Harvard Computer Science course. Described in their own words: CS50x is Harvard College’s introduction to the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the art of programming.

I will be posting again shortly to update you on the path that I decide to choose next.
